A Crash Course for the Health Care Professional is a 1 hour continuing education course that provides definitions of health, aging and quality of life. It reviews common chronic health conditions: musculoskeletal disorders, respiratory disorders, cardiovascular disorders, nervous system disorders, sensory disorders, endocrine disorders, digestive disorders, urinary disorders, and reproductive system disorders. The course also examines changes in the 5 senses, psychosocial changes in later life and the concept of healthy aging.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to provide information on the aging process.   

Learning Objectives

  1. Define health, aging and quality of life
  2. List common chronic health conditions
  3. List changes in the 5 senses
  4. Discuss psychosocial changes in later life
  5. Understand healthy aging

Criteria for Successful Completion

To receive continuing education credit for this program, you must complete the entire course, including registration, viewing the video program, taking the post-test and obtaining a score of at least 70% or better, and completing the program evaluation. If you do not score a 70% or better, you may take the exam again as many times as necessary to receive a passing score. When a score of 70% or better is achieved, you will be able to move forward to the evaluation and receive your certificate online.
