Managing Dementia-Related Behaviors

Hours: 1.00
Course Number: 0144
Course Date: 08/25/2016

Managing Dementia-Related Behaviors is a 1-hour continuing education course that focuses on effective nonpharmacological interventions for dementia-related behaviors. It stresses the importance of beginning with psychosocial methods of improving behaviors and the resident's quality of life. The course also examines how to accurately identify common dementia-related behaviors and intervene using behavioral and cognitive based interventions and not solely the use of psychiatric medications.

Because the interdisciplinary team constructs care goals and the resident's plan of care, social workers, nurses and other healthcare professionals can benefit from the information in this course.
