Building Your Staffing Toolkit with Certified Medication Aides

Purpose

The purpose of this 1-hour continuing education course is to explain how to integrate medication aides in senior care facilities as a solution to staffing shortages and increasing continuing and quality of care.

Learning Objectives

1. Understand the role of certified medication aides in enhancing resident care by discussing specific responsibilities of CMAs and how to become a CMA 2. Identify current nursing staffing challenges and explore the benefits of implementing CMAs, and how this can improve efficiency and allow nurses to focus on higher-level clinical tasks 3. Develop a strategic implementation plan for introducing CMAs into the workforce by outlining steps for recruiting, training, and supporting CMAs

Criteria for Successful Completion

To receive continuing education credit for this program, you must complete the entire course, including registration, viewing the video program, taking the post-test and obtaining a score of at least 70% or better, and completing the program evaluation. If you do not score a 70% or better, you may take the exam again as many times as necessary to receive a passing score. When a score of 70% or better is achieved, you will be able to move forward to the evaluation and receive your certificate online.
