Active Shooter Preparation and Response in Senior Care: Secure, Preserve, Fight provides an extensive overview of a new method for effectively responding to an active shooter or attacker in a senior care setting. It describes the new “Secure, Preserve, Fight” model of active shooter preparation and describes the differences between health care shootings and attacks and other types of violent events.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to provide training on a new method for handling an active shooter event in a senior care setting: “Secure, Preserve, Fight”. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe differences between health care shootings and other types of active shooter events
  2. Introduce the new “Secure, Preserve, Fight” approach to an active shooting 

Criteria for Successful Completion

To receive continuing education credit for this program, you must complete the entire course, including registration, viewing the video program, taking the post-test and obtaining a score of at least 70% or better, and completing the program evaluation. If you do not score a 70% or better, you may take the exam again as many times as necessary to receive a passing score. When a score of 70% or better is achieved, you will be able to move forward to the evaluation and receive your certificate online.
