Ethics in Senior Care is a 1-hour continuing education course that examines various ethical dilemmas and issues that can take place in senior care settings including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, personal care homes, and home health and hospice agencies.

The course reviews core ethical principles, values and standards that are important in senior care.It reviews methods for making sound ethical decisions and ends by asking the learner to make a new commitment to improve quality care and life for seniors receiving care and services. 

Ethics in Senior Care is an important topic for all healthcare professionals including administrators, nurses, case managers and social workers as well as informal caregivers in home settings. It provides a good refresher on ethical values, principles and high standards of care.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to review ethical principles in the care of elderly individuals in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities and those recieving home health and hospiceservices.

Criteria for Successful Completion

To receive continuing education credit for this program, you must complete the entire course, including registration, viewing the video program, taking the post-test and obtaining a score of at least 70% or better, and completing the program evaluation. If you do not score a 70% or better, you may take the exam again as many times as necessary to receive a passing score. When a score of 70% or better is achieved, you will be able to move forward to the evaluation and receive your certificate online.
