Ethics and Serving LGBT Older Adults in Senior Care explores a number of ethical concerns and potential issues that may arise when delivering care and services to the LGBT older adult in senior care. This course also identifies special concerns that LGBT seniors may have regarding their care. This course applies to continuing education ethical requirements.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to introduce the learner to special ethical concerns when providing care to older LGBT adults.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss potential issues caring for LGBT seniors in long-term care
  2. Identify special concerns that LGBT seniors have about long-term care
  3. List possible ethical concerns involved in caring for older LGBT adults

Criteria for Successful Completion

To receive continuing education credit for this program, you must complete the entire course, including registration, viewing the video program, taking the post-test and obtaining a score of at least 70% or better, and completing the program evaluation. If you do not score a 70% or better, you may take the exam again as many times as necessary to receive a passing score. When a score of 70% or better is achieved, you will be able to move forward to the evaluation and receive your certificate online.
